Zacko Francis Honore Kore

Child Protection Specialist, P3 step 13

Summary

Child Protection Specialist, P3 step 13 Graduate in Sociology, I have 23 years of experience with UNICEF in the field of child protection, both in development contexts and humanitarian situations (armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters) in Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and currently in Niger. During my career I have closely continued to strengthen the child protection systems, notably through the development of Policies and Strategies for Child Protection (National Child Protection Policy in Côte d'Ivoire and Mali). With a proven knowledge of UNICEF policies, rules, and procedures, on the one hand, and both technical knowledge of child protection concepts and strategic interventions and solid experience, including in emergency situations, on the other hand, I have helped to develop partnerships and demonstrated my ability to implement interventions to address vulnerabilities, the multifaceted risks and cases of child protection, and thus achieve short-term goals in demanding, complex and rapidly changing environments. For several years, throughout my roles, I contributed actively and consistently to the drafting of various documents of the Section and the Office, both for planning and resources mobilization (Strategic documents, Work Plans, Fact Sheets, Concept Notes, Proposals, Donor Reports, Annual Reports, etc.). In my experience in Senegal, acting as Chief Child Protection, I managed to mobilize 750,000 Euros with AFD for the withdrawal of Talibé children affected by COVID-19 and their return to their families. Over the past ten years, I have regularly acted as interim of the chief section in Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Goma and Diffa. In addition, I held the position of Section Head a.i in Mali for one year and Senegal for five months, particularly during the COVID crisis; those experiences strengthened my capacity for advocacy, programming, leading and follow-up implementation at both national and field levels. I am fluent in French and able to communicate in English. Working in an English-speaking environment remains for me a professional and personal development opportunity to seize.
